In the 94th Indian Science Congress the Hall of Pride
is dedicated to the two
'karmayogis' of modern India
whose immense focus and contribution helped
India
make strides in the various fields of Science
and Technology.
|
Pandit Jawaharlal
Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India initiated and propagated
the
focus upon research and development as the most essential
strategy towards
building the country. Incidentally Pandit Jawaharlal
Nehru was the only non-scientist
who was elected as the General
President of Indian Science Congress.
On the other hand Late Shri Ghanshyamdas Birla in the shadows
of
Mahatma Gandhi was the one who encouraged creating and developing
scientific and industrial societies, as well as Institutes which
would produce
generations after generations studying science and
technology. We take
immense pleasure in saluting these two towering
personalities on this occasion
of great relevance. |
