The 3rd Nutraceutical Summit International Seminar & Expo was successfully organized the November 15 to 17 2006 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.

The Event was inaugurated by Dr. R A Mashelkar, Director General, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Secretary – Department of Scientific & Industrial Research as the Chief Patron and Dr. V. Prakash, Director, Central Food Technical Research Institute of India.
The Inaugural function was also attended by Mr. Amitabh Chandra, Commissioner, FDA Maharashtra and Dr. Ashok Vaidya, Director, Bhavans SPARC. |

The 3rd Nutraceutical Summit was organized by CSIR, India's premier Industrial R&D organization, CFTRI, the largest and most diversified food technology laboratories in the world and MMACTIV - Sci Tech Communication Co. and is supported by Industry association's like HADSA, OPPI, IDMA, ADMA, ABLE and Pharmexcil.
After the successful completion of the 1st and 2nd Nutraceutical Summits, the 3rd Nutraceutical Summit once again addressed the key issues of the Nutraceutical Industry with the appropriately selected focal theme "Uncorking the Health Revolution through Cutting edge R&D, Vibrant Marketing and Quality Assurance".

Doctor's and Nutritionists Forum strongly supported by the Indian Dietetics Association offered a dynamic interaction amongst the Medical fraternity, Nutritionists, Dieticians and the Nutraceutical Industry representatives on the importance of nutraceuticals in Health Management and wellness.
The three-day focused Summit concluded with the Valedictory Function during which the gathering was addressed by the Dr. P. I. Suvrathan, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries on The Food Safety and Standards Bill, which served as a fitting culmination to the event. The Bill seeks to regulate nutraceuticals and dietary supplements. It will define the scope of acceptable health and nutrition claims and therefore have an impact on consumer perception, and a positive effect for the nutraceutical industry at large.
