Objectives
GSDI-7 focused on 'SDI for a sustainable future' aiming to bring into fore the policies, technologies and applications for enabling a spatial world addressing national, regional and global SDI initiatives and requirements. GSDI-7 aimed at bringing together delegates from all over the world representing a large portion of SDI community including data producers, IT providers and professionals, Geo-spatial information users, policy makers etc

Highlights of the Conference
The 7th edition of GSDI Conference was held in India in Feb'04 at Bangalore. It was co organised by Indian Space Research Organisation and Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. Through GSDI 7 conference it is hoped that the participating nations and governments would benefit from the experiences of the SDI enabled nations and it would also help prepare them for SDI activities. The focus was on National SDI Programme, SDI Technologies, Policy and Legal perspectives of SDI, SDI and Sustainable Development, SDI - Business Opportunities.

Highlights of the Expo
Spatial World Expo showcased the major technological and application achievements in SDI. Industries representing GIS, remote sensing, GPS, networking systems or a value-added resellers of SDI products and services, specific application oriented software developers, Mapping and cartography, web products and services, , National Mapping Agencies participated in this Expo. The special highlight of the expo was the Great Arc Pavilion showcased by Survey of India.
